Raw Water Automation/Control
Changes in plant flow or influent water quality can result in upsets if your raw water chemistry is fed manually. These upsets can cause fouling in processes downstream of the plant, reducing performance and putting equipment at risk. Automating your chemical feed can greatly improve performance and reduce upsets. The Nalco Water streaming current detector provides you with the control you need and performance you expect from a world-class water treatment provider.
Streaming Current Detector
Our streaming current detector automatically controls coagulant feed to a water or wastewater stream. The detector receives an electrical charge signal from a sample of the chemically treated stream. The system continuously monitors the charge density of the treated water flow, compares it to a desired set-point and adjusts a feed pump output to compensate for changes in water characteristics and/or flow rate. Benefits include:
- Automatic coagulant dosing improves operator efficiency
- Reduces costs by optimizing chemical usage
- Helps prevent plant upsets
- High flow, self-cleaning sensor design
- Maintains sample line cleanliness and sensor cell reliability
