Rajnish Maharaj
Global Regulatory Affairs Lead

Rajnish is the global regulatory lead for Ecolab Life Sciences. Rajnish assures sustainability for the Life Sciences portfolio and by developing global regulatory strategies. He engages with pharmaceutical manufacturers to facilitate understanding of all regulations pertaining to Ecolab’s cleaning and disinfection portfolio.

Rajnish graduated with a degree in microbiology and biochemistry at the University of KZN in South Africa. He has held a number of regulatory affairs, R&D and supply chain leadership positions in Ecolab and Unilever based in the UK, Singapore, Netherlands and South Africa. He has worked in the biocides, personal care, household care, food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

Rajnish has worked with industry associations and authorities in Europe, Middle East Africa and Asia Pacific. He has held many industry association positions; European International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products (A.I.S.E) - Chairman of Sustainable use of Biocides Workgroup and Vice-chairman of the Biocides Workgroup. He also represented A.I.S.E as an industry representative in the EU Disinfectants Efficacy Group, and within the EU Biocides Product Authorization and Mutual Recognition Facilitation Group.

In Singapore, whilst holding the position of Head of Regulatory Affairs (South and South East Asia) for Ecolab, Rajnish was the committee lead for external communications in the Cleaning and material protection committee in the energy and chemicals industry group.
